We’re very excited to announce that the number of people helping make Valley Gives happen this year has grown! to help better train all of the participants, communicate with the public and keep you informed we’ve brought more people – and more energy – onto the project. To help you get to know all of us, here are a few bios!
Tracy Hightower will be working at the Nonprofit Outreach Leader handling all communications, outreach and support for the nonprofit organizations participation in Valley Gives. She served as a Board Member and was Operations Chair of Amherst Education Foundation since 2008 where she successfully helped them run a fantastic Valley Gives campaign last year. She is an expert in helping nonprofit organizations with capacity building, branding, maximize their visibility, which is establish through the good work that they do. Having been a farmer, a co-op developer and a film producer, Tracy’s skill set is far-reaching.
Marcelia Muehlke is excited join the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts and the Valley Gives team at the new Program Manager. She will oversee keeping the team on deadline and on budget. Marcie brings extensive experience in nonprofit program management and evaluation as well as an entrepreneurial spirit to this new initiative. She worked for several years as program manager for a nonprofit in Hawaii whose goal was to recruit, train, and retain high quality teachers. Marcie lives in Amherst and owns the social enterprise Celia Grace, a fair trade wedding fashion business.
Our amazing intern, Amélie Touri, is an excellent Anthropology major/French minor at Mount Holyoke College. Her education and communication experience give her a critical perspective in examining the forces that influence public and professional engagement such as, personal gain, social value and risk evaluation. She uses her range of skills to promote Valley Gives Day 2013 by producing educational and promotional short films, facilitating student engagement and generating web content on various social media platforms.
Michael Kusek is returning to the Valley Gives team as the PR/Communications person. He has provided marketing/public relations, strategic planning, branding and event management consulting to a portfolio of national and regional organizations, individuals and businesses since 1992. Utilizing a deep pool of creative contacts around the globe, he creates effective teams allowing him to provide the services a large agency would provide without being tied to one particular creative process aesthetic or team.
