Important Valley Gives Clarification

We have heard that a number of organizations are struggling with the “schedule a donation” function and related donor confusion.  This feature is new for Razoo this fall.  We understand and agree that this tool is not perfect.   However, we have been in touch with Razoo and learned that we cannot remove the donation box prior to 12/12/12 or improve clarity around the scheduling function on your pages.

ONLY gifts made on 12/12/12 will count toward the totals for the prizes.  Please be sure to word your communications to ensure your donors understand that, in order for their donation to help you be eligible for prize money during Valley Gives, they must SCHEDULE their gift.

Some additional tips:

  • Donors can access the “schedule one for Valley Gives” option on the website only, not via the widget or the mobile app.
  • They must be on your specific Valley Gives page.  Make sure the link you share is to the web address (url) that begins with valleygives.razoo.com/, NOT razoo.com/ You’ll know it is the right page if it is branded for Valley Gives at the top.
  • Instruct your donors to click on the BLUE “schedule one for Valley Gives” link, which is inside the “Make a Donation” box.  This blue link will take them to the scheduling page and allow them to enter in their gift information.  Their credit card will be charged at 9am on 12/12/12, making their gift part of your Valley Gives Day totals.

If you are concerned about gifts arriving ahead of time, you may want to consider increasing your communication and be very clear with donors about SCHEDULING a gift (clear how-to’s) or ask your donors to wait until the 12th.

If you have already received donations through the site, you may want to reach out to those donors to discuss possible options that make the most sense from your own donor relations perspective.

  1. I have made a pdf file to show donors how to schedule a donation. It is important that they sign in first and set up their account, then do the scheduling, otherwise it’s very possible to lose the scheduling ability even though they clicked on it at beginning.

    I have another question – is it possible to see how many and how much has been scheduled in donations?

  2. I have already received donations for my organization before Valley Gives day. Will we still be able to access that money even if it is not counted toward prizes?
